Fagan Engineers and Land Surveyors, P.C. is an established Elmira-based firm providing a full range of civil engineering services. We are a forward-moving firm located in the Twin Tiers. We serve a variety of private and public sector clients throughout the Southern Tier of New York and Northern Tier of Pennsylvania.

Land Surveyor

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will excel at contributing to all elements of Land Surveying and will have 3+ years minimum field work experience or similar responsibilities in the Land Surveying Field.

Minimum Education: AAS or higher in Land Surveying is preferred.
Registration: Intern Land Surveyor or the ability to obtain required.

Skills:

Perform Boundary, A.L.T.A/NSPS Land Title surveys, and water right surveys.
Develop subdivision plats and record of survey maps.
Perform Existing Conditions/Topographic surveys for small and large projects.
Compile/reduce data and import data into drawings.
Prepare parcel descriptions for properties, roads, easements, rights of way, etc.
Control surveys: establish and maintain control networks over large and small sites.
Construction staking, including the ability to generate stakeout data from plans and transfer that information onto the ground.
Establish and maintain quality control procedures on survey operations.
Proficiency in Autodesk Civil3D, and Microsoft Office Software is mandatory.
Proficiency in Topcon Software, GPS, and Robotic Total stations is preferred.
Effectively manage multiple, complex survey projects.
Work with staff engineers to plan and execute survey responsibilities for in-house projects in the Finger Lakes region and surrounding areas.
Work in inclement weather and in all types of terrain.
Willingness to learn and expand responsibilities.
Ability to work independently.
Strong interpersonal, communication and technical writing skills.

Civil Engineer Designer

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate excels at contributing to all elements of Civil Engineering with a focus in Municipal Engineering and Land Development. The candidate will work with Project Managers and Engineers in a collaborative manner to assist in preparation of design plans utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D. This includes the development of conceptual designs, performing detailed calculations, producing project drawings and specifications.

Minimum Education: CAD/Drafting related Certificate Program or Associates degree in Civil Engineering / Design Technology preferred.
Minimum Experience: 0-5 Years

Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory. AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software is mandatory.
ESRI/GIS experience a plus.
Strong interpersonal, communication and technical writing skills.
Ability to work independently.
Willingness to learn and expand responsibilities.

Staff Engineer

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate excels at contributing to all elements of Civil Engineering with a focus in Municipal Engineering and Land Development. This includes the development of conceptual designs, performing detailed calculations, producing project drawings and specifications, review agency coordination (Local, State and Federal), and guiding the project through the construction/implementation phase.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering or Landscape Architecture
Minimum Experience: 2+ Years
Registration: E.I.T. or ability to obtain required. LEED or CPESC certification a plus. Ideal candidate will have experience with municipal, industrial and private development clients.

Skills:

Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory. AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software is mandatory.
Hydraulic and hydrological modeling software experience is mandatory.
ESRI/GIS experience a plus.
Strong interpersonal, communication and technical writing skills.
Ability to work independently.
Willingness to learn and expand responsibilities.
