Fagan Engineers & Land Surveyors had the pleasure of participating in a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the newly constructed Winfield Street Sidewalk. The ceremony was held in the Town of Corning at the intersection of Sly Avenue and Winfield Street.
Spearheading the project was 10 year old Natilee Sellers, who attends Corning’s Winfield Street School. It was Natilee’s daily walk to school that influenced her campaign to have sidewalks installed along the busy road. Natilee’s outstanding commitment to the safety of fellow students and pedestrians was supported by the combined efforts of the local community.
Corning Town Supervisor, Kim Feehan welcomed everyone to the event and offered a few words about the Winfield Street Sidewalk project. Chris Karam of Fagan Engineers was on hand to present Natilee Sellers with an Outstanding Youth Achievement Award for her exceptional service to the community. Joe Sempolinski (District Director for Congressman Tom Reed) and Rich Negri (City of Corning Mayor) attended the ribbon cutting as a show of support for Natilee’s endeavor. Also in attendance at the ceremony were project contributors, Glen Rose (GLR Services and Contracting), Mike Austin (Katie’s Concrete), Jim Smith (Crning Building Company) and Fagan Engineers (design services).
